July weddings in Georgia are not for the faint of heart, and Caitlin and Nevan’s day was no exception. It was hot, it was sunny and it was absolutely beautiful. Their July 13th wedding was full of joy, tradition and personal touches that made every moment feel like them.
We started the day in the sweetest little Airbnb in Athens, where Caitlin and her girls got ready together. The natural light was perfection (a photographer’s dream!), and I loved that Caitlin thought ahead about choosing a space with photos in mind. Hair and makeup filled the morning with laughter and anticipation before the big reveal.

Once everyone was ready, Caitlin and her bridesmaids hopped on the bus to meet Nevan at the Founders Garden for their first look. We tucked into shady corners to escape the summer heat, and the moment Caitlin tapped Nevan on the shoulder was just as sweet and intimate as they had envisioned. Their smiles said it all. Afterward, we strolled the gardens for portraits and wedding party photos. The greenery and historic charm of the space made for the perfect backdrop.

From there, it was on to the Catholic Center at UGA, a church close to their hearts and part of their love story. Watching them exchange vows in a place they’ve shared together made the ceremony feel especially meaningful.

After the ceremony, we headed to the State Botanical Garden of Georgia for their reception. Cocktail hour gave us a chance to explore the stunning grounds for more portraits (we moved quickly, thanks to the July heat!), and I loved capturing those quiet in-between moments as they soaked in their first moments as newlyweds.

The reception space was elegant, filled with friends and family ready to celebrate. From heartfelt toasts to packed dance floors, the night was pure joy. They ended the evening with a bubble exit; A light and fun way to close out their summer wedding day.
