This engagement session was especially fun for me because it took place in Charleston! I was already in town photographing a wedding and scheduled Courtney and Tanner’s session for the following morning bright and early. We met around 7am and wandered through downtown Charleston before the city really woke up.

The streets were quiet and empty, which made the whole experience feel calm and unhurried. With no crowds and soft morning light, it set a really easygoing tone for the hour we spent together. Courtney and Tanner had just gotten engaged, so the timing worked out perfectly and added to the excitement of the session.

Since I’m not super familiar with Charleston, they helped guide us through the cobblestone streets and some of their favorite spots downtown. We spent the morning walking, chatting and getting to know each other — including their pups, who made the session even more fun!

It was such a relaxed and enjoyable morning, and I loved getting to capture Courtney and Tanner in a place that felt meaningful and laid-back. Charleston was the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos and I’m so glad our schedules lined up to make this session happen!
