There’s something so special about a morning that feels like it might rain, but doesn’t. Jen and Corey’s engagement session at Piedmont Park had that quiet, cozy energy: A little overcast, soft light peaking through the trees and a light coolness in the air.
We started with their sweet pup, who was just as much a part of this love story as they are. After a few playful shots, we wandered through the park, letting the morning unfold naturally.

One of my favorite moments was when Jen told me her engagement ring once belonged to Corey’s grandmother. It made me so emotional and it is such a beautiful reminder that love stories don’t just start with two people, they carry pieces of the generations before them.

Next April, I’ll get to photograph their intimate City Hall ceremony with just their closest family, and later, their celebration at Bold Monk Brewing Co., a place they’ve made their own together. I can already imagine the joy of documenting both the quiet vows and the laughter-filled party that follows.

Jen and Corey, thank you for braving the almost-rain with me and for letting me capture a piece of your story.
