Some mornings just feel a little more magical, and this one with Janai and Trevor was exactly that. 

We met up in the early morning light at Piedmont Park, one of my favorite places to shoot in Atlanta. The city hadn’t quite woken up yet, and the park had this peaceful stillness to it that made everything feel just a little softer, a little slower and a lot more romantic. It truly was the perfect setting. 

Janai had reached out to me wanting a location that felt them, and Piedmont Park was an easy choice. It’s not just a pretty backdrop, it’s part of their everyday life. They live within walking distance and take strolls through the park with their pup regularly. It felt extra special to capture their love story in a space that already holds so many sweet memories for them.

We’d originally hoped for fall foliage to be part of the scene, but coordinating schedules was a bit of a dance – especially since Janai is a cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons (how cool is that?!). Despite our date shifting around a bit, I think the timing turned out to be juuuust right. The soft morning light, the beautiful skyline and the undeniable chemistry between these two made every moment feel effortlessly beautiful.

From the very first frame, Janai and Trevor were an absolute joy to photograph. Their energy is so natural and full of joy — you can just feel how much fun they have together. Whether they were wrapped up in a hug or laughing mid-walk, every image felt genuine and full of heart.

This session reminded me why I love what I do so much. Being able to press pause on a season of life and turn it into something they’ll hold onto forever is such a gift.
