I catch myself daydreaming about this one often, and once you read about it, you’ll see why!
The day kicked off at the effortlessly charming Hotel Clermont in Atlanta, which set the tone for everything to come. It’s quirky, colorful and oh-so-cute; The perfect getting-ready setting for Brooke and her best girls. I couldn’t stop smiling while photographing all the dainty details.
I then headed to the front of the hotel for Brooke and Walker’s first look. There was something so tender and genuine in the way Walker saw Brooke for the first time. You could feel the excitement and love radiating off of both of them. After a few quiet moments to soak it all in, we wandered around the hotel capturing some playful, editorial-style shots.
We hit the custom marquee sign (their names in lights? Iconic), squeezed into the adorable photo booth, and of course, made our way to the rooftop for some classic city views. I swear I could’ve photographed them up there forever, but it was time to get them hitched!
Once we wrapped up at the hotel, it was off to The Trolley Barn, a total gem nestled in the heart of Atlanta. Spring had shown up in full force: Flowers in bloom, the scent of fresh garden air and sunshine filtering through the trees. We knocked out the rest of the portraits and dove into a laid-back, outdoor ceremony. It was heartfelt, sweet and just so them. And then…they were officially The Whitleys!
One thing I loved (and always encourage!) was that Brooke and Walker made it a point to attend their cocktail hour. YES. Your wedding day is one big celebration of your love, and mingling with your favorite people is what it’s all about. Thanks to a well-planned timeline and shooting their first-looks earlier in the day, they were able to savor that special time with their guests.
The reception was all the good things you hope for: laughter, heartfelt toasts, good food and even better dancing. Brooke and Walker didn’t miss a moment, and I stayed tucked behind my lens soaking up every candid smile, happy tear and late-night dance move.
We snuck out for a few flash photos with their getaway car (always a must!), and the night ended with the dreamiest flower petal exit. No sparklers, no bubbles – just soft petals floating through the air as they made their exit. I was a HUGE fan of this!
Before I wrap this up, I have to give a major shoutout to House of Bash. The floral design was absolutely beautiful. Truly some of the most stunning blooms I’ve ever had the joy of photographing. They brought the whole day to life.
Brooke and Walker: Your love is joyful and full of light. Thank you for letting me capture the beginning of your new chapter!
A huge thanks to all of the wonderful vendors from this beautiful day, it was seriously such a dream team!!
